Housing Options

Muscat offers a variety of different housing such as service apartments, standard apartments, garden courts and villas. Apartment or villa sharing is also a good option as most villas/ apartments are fairly large. To search for house mates, check the notice boards at supermarkets, especially Sultan centre and the various Al Fair outlets.

Serviced Apartments
These are fairly expensive and therefore more suitable for shorter stays. Serviced apartments can be rented on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis. They come fully furnished with cleaning ad laundry service included.  

Standard Apartment
Apartments are found all over Muscat and vary in size from tiny with a communal bathroom to a spacious penthouse. Muscat is surrounded by hills and the top floors usually have a great view.  

Garden Courts
These consist of a dozen 2-3 bedroom compact terraced houses or semi detached villas built around a communal garden and swimming pool. Garden courts provide children with a safe area to play and a gang of ready made friends. The sociable person will really enjoy the Garden court life. There are quite a few in the Madinat As Sultan Qaboos area.  

Villas
Villas in Muscat vary in size, price range and amenities and facilities available. Villas vary from the spacious, elegant villas found in Shati Al Qurm, Qurm, Qurm Heights to the more manageable sized villas with large gardens in Madinat Qaboos, to the lower cost villas in the newer upcoming areas like Al Azaiba, Al Khuwair, Al Ghubrah.
